00:00:00       Hey everybody, this is Erin Pennington here. Just to let you know, this episode is just a little bit different. We are with our guests, Jordan Heid, who you will meet in just a minute and make sure you stick till the end of the episode. We are featuring local artists and their music so you can jam out to some local Nashville musicians at the very end of this episode and we'll figure out what their favorite restaurant is as well. So looking forward to that. That will be at the end of our episode. Now we hope you enjoy our guest, Jordan Heid.

00:00:45       They can't get a cure until they know what type of animal they initially came from. Right. Well and they were sad. The first stuff that I read about it was they weren't going to have, they weren't going to have any form of cure or anything for it for at least a couple of months. Cause you gotta you gotta see it, you gotta dissect it, you gotta figure out what works, what doesn't, which, which irritates the crap out of me, man. I was so excited to go to China. I'm like, shoot. Yeah man. What would be the alternative? He didn't go to China where you go, Ooh, that is a good question. Let's say that for the pod. Oh, we started, we started at the end. That is, that is a really good question. Well, now that that's happening, now that that's happening, we're just going, I like it. Look at this little full ride.

00:01:36       Our beginning later over here, he's just like, Oh, I learned this from, from from, we just need to listen with the boys. So when I did their podcast report, I would come in on the first day that I did it, I came in and I wasn't recording already when they first came in. Right. Cause you're in production. You're, you're, you wait until everybody's like, we're good. We're good. We're good. Okay, good. That's 100% it, they started walking on and talking and there was no signal of going. Nobody had collaborated say, are we ready yet? Okay, cool. Now we'll go, Oh, that's why I talked for hammer roll. They talked all the time. We talked for 10 minutes and they said, are we recording? I said no, and I was like, shoot, I'm going to be fired on the first day. Cause I didn't, I wasn't already recording.

00:02:25       It was funny conversation, but it was just like back and forth. And and so ever since then ever since then, before they got on the bus, we were rolling. Yeah. Before they even stepped on. Even for pleasantries. Right. You do it cause you never know what's gonna happen. Yeah. That's why you always leave the cameras rolling. I would always practice that after the fact, but not beforehand. Yeah. But now I do it before it's beforehand and yeah. Yeah. That's why all those people, you know what some of the people get caught, you know, go into the bathroom and saying something.

00:03:00       Audio is always wrong. Every church has a horror story with that. Absolutely. Ever seen. So if you guys don't recognize his voice, this is Jordan. It's really high pitched. It's really hats. It is high, paid high. If there's anybody out there call right now, one, 800. I'd love to get some base for my voice. Yeah, we know where I can buy that. You can get some essential oils and they'll help. That would lower the optics of your voice. I think they're like you go to Vanderbilt, they specialize in surgeries for musicians and singers and stuff like local courts. Yeah, they do. That'd be your local EMT. ENT. So Jordan, introduce yourself again. The last episode you were on with us was episode 91 where are we at right now? We're at one 28 I like to only come in on obscure numbers for episodes.

00:03:46       I never want to be a part of anything big like the 200 or 1000 we'll never do that. Bring it down back at like 1002 three yeah. Awkward numbers never keep me in the weird spot. That's what we should be doing here. It's that what you say at home. Keep me in the weird spot. Keep me on the weird spot. My wife's probably shaking her head right now, going, Oh dear. What is he talking about? Camera room. Yeah, it's like here. Yeah, it's the basement. It's a weird room. That's where it's all kept. Keep me there. That's where I work. I have before we get going into this, I, I have something that's near and dear to my heart that we need to discuss right now. And I think it's a way where as human beings we can all come together because there's those of us who think it's God's gift to put pineapple on pizza and others who don't.

00:04:37       Oh, but now there's this thing with people putting Kiwi [inaudible] we need to just rally together, rally together or whatever side you're on and hate everyone that's putting Kiwi on raw or cooked. It's raw. It's raw. That's, yeah, I'd be down for trying it. Okay. You can go now. So if it's Kiwi Kiwi made in Hawaii, Alaska, but I don't know. I think it could be really good if you like saute the Kiwi. I'm not sure I can try. I love pineapple. I yes, absolutely. I think everybody should be down for having pineapple on your pizza. I like to order one that goes extra cheese, pepperoni, bacon and pineapple. Have you ever thrown Canadian bacon on there? Good. I mean, I've had Canadian bacon. When you switch it to this regular breakfast bacon, it has the crisp. I like the change. Yeah, I like that. You're welcome. For everybody who wants to get fat. Do that. Let's say our podcast specializes in talking about food. [inaudible].

00:05:50       I should try this. Yeah, I love everything. Pineapple, so I've actually developed a pineapple meatloaf and so use my base meat is actually sausage instead of beef and so I use sausage and then I get like crushed pineapple. I just mix it into the shot sausage and then I have in the past used Doritos for my like breadcrumbs and so it tasted like this, like Dorito sausage, your mind doing this podcast and not around the food. I know, I know. I always make this mistake. We always make this mistake. Just do this. Next time we're going to do it at someone's house and we're going to cook. It's going to be at the same time we're going to do the podcast at the same time. Think we should order a pizza right now with Kiwiana and see what happens. Do you wonder who would have that available already as like a hot item?

00:06:34       Well, pizza huts like going bankrupt, so I doubt it's them. Domino's may have Kiwi if you say, Hey, can you pick me up a Kiwi when you're running from Kroger? I pay an extra $5 they may do it. It might work. Just a single Kiwi for like 69 cents. I forgot jello shots by the way. Oh yeah, that's right. Yeah. I know the disappointment in your eyes. I can feel it. Pizza and jello wanted to, I thought, man, I need to make jello shots tomorrow. Just forgot I didn't have one. My wife said, do you realize how long it takes to make the yellows? It's an almost an overnight thing. Are you serious? Yeah. You get a little cool in the fridge, just like regular jello, so you heat it up, right, and then you have to let it cool for at least three or four hours.

00:07:14       Oh my goodness. Yeah. Yeah, I didn't. So all the jello shots that are consumed here in downtown Nashville. Oh there, they're buying that jello from somebody else. Somebody is really going to town on that. Yeah. They're probably just getting like, it's probably some jello brand for some kids just making terrible kids make slime and all that stuff. They're probably just doing jello shots too. Wow. What a lucrative business. Yeah. So Jordan, you just came out with your first YouTube video with your wife. Yeah. Yeah. So we are, last time I was here we were talking about, you know, we had this concept of possibly doing a vlog. I looked back at the footage and dear God, no it was bad, but I think it was bad because we had nothing to actually talk about. And so it was me rambling, which is even worse. We took a trip down to Curacao and I bought it, brought a bunch of gear with me and my wife, a few about a few months before that, wrote this really cool inspirational narrative piece and we went down there and filmed a bunch of stuff and then came back and cut it together and threw it up.

00:08:20       And we'll see what happens if people like it. Cool. Sweet. You know, we'll use it to, what's your YouTube channel? The hide collective hide. H. H. E. I. D. yeah. Awesome Hyde collective. Yeah. Go check it out and take two minutes of your time. You know, it's kind of fun. She's got a cool, my wife did the voiceover for it and so it's got a, she did pretty good on it. Is this something that you guys are gonna look at continuing? I think we're going to try and do more. We were going to do one, so we were S we're supposed to leave for China on March 1st. That's if you guys haven't been paying attention. There is this huge virus going around China right now. I like to call it stars part two. Yeah. But it's 875. [inaudible] Has been confirmed to have it or batteries. 26 people have died so far in China.

00:09:08       There's three confirmed cases in the United States so far. And this is just that the Z or a virus that, it's literally a starting in about the last month. Right. And so what we were all set to go, there was a group of six, six of us going and trying to, so like Southern China, like I don't know much about China going to be in Shanghai and Beijing basically Beijing's in the North part Shanghai's lower. So the distance from, how do you say the city that it's in blue on or something along. So roughly the distance from there to Shanghai is about here. Nashville to Atlanta, say the Atlantic coast. Atlantic coast. Wow. Okay. Yeah. So that's a distance between the two. So that's a bit, it's a chunk but not that far. There's 11 million people that live in that city and they have to travel throughout the country and yeah. So that ruined our plans to make another video. We were going to do one for China, do another inspirational thing and make something cool and have that and well now that's ruined. Thanks China. Yeah, there's a difference. Different but different story to tell them they're not listening to this podcast cause it's once her into like a South park episode. [inaudible]

00:10:15       Controversy of South park. No, last season. No. What happened. So one of the South park characters flew over the China that starts selling weed to them and the Chinese government's like, yeah, let's so let's buy this stuff. But then Disney and South park like came in and tried stopping the guy that sell weed cause they wanted to sell like the superheroes of Disney. And it was like this huge controversy on South park for like five or six episodes this last season. It was pretty hilarious to watch that. It's good. But they made the jokes about the basketball thing and Oh yeah, that huge NBA thing that happens. And yeah.

00:10:54       But you know what's interesting is, is I don't think anybody from China will hear our podcast because it's blocked beat. Right. Because it's your podcast. Right? Yeah. Cause we, we have listeners who were in I believe Japan. We've had listeners from Australia and New Zealand place near there, but not China. I'd like to give a shout out to the one listener in Egypt. Hey man or lady, thanks for listening to this podcast. Right. They may be in Kira. I definitely want to go to Kairos sometime. Have you been? That's on the bucket list. Okay. Where in the middle East have you been? Zero. That was me. I was doing this really cool hand gesture to bed. You can see it great here in the studio. Yeah, it wasn't. Yeah. no I haven't been anywhere yet, but I am wanting to wanting to get there. I want to go to a bunch of stuff.

00:11:47       So I guarantee you now that we're not going to China, my wife has seasonal depression where when it gets into the winter, she gets very antsy that we're not going somewhere warm or anything like that. So yeah. Now that that's probably, I'm going to go 90% chance. We're not going to be in China. She's going to make me go somewhere else. So who knows where we'll go. Awesome. I'm showing Jordan a map right now of some of our listening locations. Let's check this out. Yeah. And so was the where everywhere around China. We haven't moved into indie yet, but we are as a type one. We've got someone in Taiwan there. Yeah, absolutely. I'm pretty sure the guy in Taiwan's name is Lee. So I'd like to shout out to Lee. Thanks for listening buddy. So what else do we got somewhere in Tai Chong? Definitely in Japan.

00:12:32       Who? Seven in Japan. You guys are going to be big in Japan. That's going to be awesome in Jakarta. We will, especially when we get a direct flight from Tokyo to BNA Australia, when that happens. Yeah, I'm game. But none in Africa surprisingly. But on the East coast over here, look at that. Just covered. Yeah. But to my buddies down in Argentina and Chile. Yeah. That's their, wait, what a great city. Yeah. Go there. Really? Oh man, that city so much fun. What's some of your favorite things there? Wine. Really? Oh yeah, the foods. Oh, they do great. Empanadas down there. That's what I remember the most empanadas and wine. I can't hear the word empanadas without thinking of the office because Toby Oh yeah. And the empanada guy where he goes to the, like the court thing. Yeah. He blames Jim. For like not actually being at court.

00:13:32       Yeah. And then they bring in the empanada guy to try to see if he could recognize Jim. And he recognizes Toby from the Scranton strangler case. And then Dwight says, who you've recognize Toby, the most unforgettable guy in the world. He's like, how are you? He's not going to remember Jim, but yeah, I can't hear empanadas without thinking of the office. I haven't told my office story. Here. I don't think also when people say the word, that's what she said. How do you not think of the office of the office? Yeah. So I was actually working in Scranton, Pennsylvania when the office was having like their season ending or like their entire show ending. And so Scranton, Pennsylvania actually had a going away party for the office. And so the hotel I worked at, they all the like people from the TV show were staying at the hotel.

00:14:20       So I took all of their bags up to their rooms and then a Steve corral made a surprise appearance. And so I was standing outside like waiting for like bags to come in cause I was like a baggage boy. And waiting for bags just to come in. And then there was a group of around 400 people all like these big fan boys of the office. And Steve Cornell came in through the back and he left about like three or four minutes before all the big fan boys showed up cause they heard he was there. And so I screamed across the parking lot. I'm like, Hey guys, Steve Carell's over that way. And hundred people started writing to try to see if, cause Steve Carell. So that's my, so you diverted traffic kind of. Yes. So you started the stampede essentially. Yes. You can, we're set on your own. No, because if it wasn't for you saying that they wouldn't have started running the other way, maybe. So technically you started it. Yeah. So that's my office story. And I kinda grew up in Scranton as well. I went to college in Scranton, so I have a lot of memories of Scranton. It's, and it's actually interesting thing. I never watched an episode of the office until I moved to Nashville. Really? Yeah. Even though I was living in wild. Yeah. So that's my office story.

00:15:32       I didn't start watching the office essentially until it was over. Because anybody knows nowadays watching things not a week apart is so much better than watching things a week apart for like just being released on television. So I didn't see it until it was effectively over and on Netflix and it was incredible. And I've probably seen it 50 times over.

00:15:58       Have you watched it all the way through? Yeah, I've watched it all the way. I watched a lot of it while it was airing and then I went back, I dunno, a few years ago. And what are some of your shows? Watched all the, everything going into let's see. Well, you're making so many shows that you probably don't have time to watch anyone else's shows. Well, I mean, it's January right now. It's kind of the slow season. So I'm, I've got a little extra time on my hands, which I'm not really a fan of, but Hey, whatever. Let's see what my guilty pleasure is. Probably Hawaii five. Oh, really? Now the newest one or it's like the old old wall. I love the old one, but I love the new one. Right.

00:16:42       Well, the only reason I've seen a few of those episodes of Hawaii Five-O they contain a few characters from lost. Yeah. And I've seen lost a couple of times through. Yeah. And so I see there's I early three, three people from loss or no, Hurley is on there. Jen is on there. I can't, I can't remember it. Who else is on there from for Blas. But yeah, so I've seen a few episodes just to see them.

00:17:07       I haven't seen either of those shows, so I have no idea what you guys are talking about. I also, I enjoyed the blacklist. Okay. Don't know what that show is. You need to go watch that lot of time to go. It's James Spader the star and he's essentially he's on the FBI's most wanted list. Okay. But he ends up making a deal with the FBI to give them other high profile criminals instead of taking him. Wow. And it's a B, C or something. I think it's NBC, but they're deepen season five. I think right now, season five or six. But it's incredibly intelligent and makes you think every time you see a new story and you go, Hmm, I wonder if that's really what happened. I wonder what's really behind that. Which kind of makes you think that is really cool. I know. Lost that a little bit of that element too.

00:18:04       Huh? Cause you, you know, what's he thought was reality sometimes wasn't reality. So that was pretty cool. Huh. So Jordan, last time you were on with a CU we talked about you being the director of photography yup. For a movie sleeper agents. Sleeper agents. Yeah. I watched the trailer and I laugh every thing that I wanted it to be. Really? Yeah. Yes. So, so that's, that was, that was really, really cool. Is that trailer out for the public? Yeah. Trailers out. You can go check it out. Sleeper agent movie. You can find it on all of the platforms that you look for stuff at and you'll find it. Awesome. trailer is out in a way, is the website sleeper agent, movie.com. So let's check it out. Wow. I'm bad at promoting RTI. Nathan, I hope you're not listening to this. Also, Leland and Brad, please forgive me.

00:18:59       Premiere is next week. No way. Yeah. Premiers next week out in Denver. Now, I don't know what's happening outside of that. Right, right. Just know that premier is it's going to be out there, red carpet, all that jazz, which shall be neat cause it's going to be my first one where I'm the DP. That's right. Yeah. So you're getting, so you're going out there for the release. Yeah, Deidre and I are going to fly out. We'll go out there for two days. We got to turn around and come back pretty quick, but right. We're going to do a little run out, you know, that's on glam put on a suit. Yeah. Oh wish you all the best of luck for that because that's going to be fantastic. Yeah, that'll be all up on that, on the next episode. See how that way, that'll be a pretty fun one.

00:19:35       Hopefully by the next time. Next time we get together next month. You know, cause it's hanging with hide time guys hanging out with the film will be out and we'll get to watch it and maybe talk about a few things. That's awesome. Do you guys already have your, your plans finalized for its release after the after the premiere? If that all goes well, I know nothing, so we'll, we'll, we'll keep an eye on it. We'll, we'll definitely I've got a script. I've got access to a screener, but I haven't watched it yet because I kinda wanna wait for the premiere instead of watching it on my computer, my phone or something stupid like that. I'd like to see it and for sure. Yeah, for sure. Gosh, I'm excited. I'm excited for you because that's so cool. It's going to be fun and it's good.

00:20:21       I enjoyed the trailer that made me laugh. I think there's even an extended trailer out there right now and I was able to watch about the first 30, 35 minutes of the very early rough cut and made me want to watch the rest of it. Wow. That's, that's good. That's fantastic. But the movie that you own, stuff you do, you're like, I know how it turns out. I like silly stupid sometimes and I love, you know, it definitely has a, an a little bit of a eighties nostalgic type of feel to it. So that, that's cool to see. Cause you know, a lot of times for, you know, a big project, I mean that would make you nervous to like did it turn out the way that I'd hoped it would? And so, you know, that's cool to hear that, Oh it's definitely not turning out the way that I want it to because I didn't have the budget to do what I wanted to do.

00:21:15       I have to keep telling myself we were limited at this is what we had. We did the best that we could. Right. Yeah. But at least like you guys probably still feel like you put together something that is incredible funny. And I think we, we put together something that's going to be really good. I'm hoping that it is well received on a bigger platform than I anticipate. Right. But I'm trying not to get my hopes up. So I actually just found the website. So it's kingdom site, studios.com the backslash sleeper agents. And that is in the show notes. If you guys want to check out the trailer for the movie that Jordan was the director of photography for sweet. Look at that. See he knows more than I do. There we go. Little bit. Little little research goes a long way. Yes it does. All right Jordan.

00:22:02       So any, anything new for you in Nashville? If you found, have you been to any restaurant, restaurants, hotels? What's the one right down kind of right down here on first. So there's Liberty common not there. Shoot. There's that one right there on the corner, right? Yeah. Aaron looked this up. I can't think of it right now. It's on the corner of first call in now. Call in now. You know, we don't have that feature. It's across the street from [inaudible] amphitheater. Yeah. And it's in the corner of first notice by now and the Assurion buildings across the street from me. Right. We are looking for you podcast with [inaudible].

00:22:44       It's a two to two. It's in a to, it's a green pheasant, green pheasant, but that place is really good. Okay. What's good about the green pheasant? Have you been in the Liberty common yet to I haven't been to Liberty common. So like supposed to go. It looks like in that area there is the green pheasant. I don't think you ate at Merrill Lynch wealth management. I did. I bring my lunch and I sit down in their cafeteria. There's Frazier and Deeter. They're an accounting firm. Ernest and young. They are also an account. It's in the middle of literally in the middle of the green pheasant in Liberty common. They don't have a name of the restaurant right there on the Google map. My wife's gonna yell at me when she hears me. Oh no, we just went last weekend. Oh, that's terrible. Oh, well yeah. That place was very good though. Okay. I enjoyed it.

00:23:32       Yeah. D your typical white girl brunch. Brunch on national avocado toast. Avocado, Coke. Whoa. Still can't speak. One month later, the avocado toast is definitely on the list. I enjoyed the steak and eggs thoroughly, who's very good and their shrimp tacos. That's actually, that's cool. Yeah, I like that it was filling the shrimp tacos. Very nice. I know exactly where you're talking about, but I can't, I don't remember. I know the name and it's not on Google maps. I know. That's crazy. It's a brand new brand brand. It's like six months, maybe eight months old. Not long. I know. There's another location in Chicago, I believe that's Liberty common. That's the one you're thinking of. So if you look at Liberty comments, the Liberty comes right here at first and [inaudible] and then you have the green pheasant, but there's another restaurant right here. Yeah, that's not the route.

00:24:23       I know. It's on the other side of [inaudible] and I think other side of the, yeah, this is four seasons. So this is empty. So it has to be the Liberty. Did he go upstairs? Yeah. And there's like a overview of the river. Yeah. Liberty common. No, it wasn't Hampton social [inaudible] that was riveting. [inaudible] Someone just to now, because we were trying to figure that out. They were like, no. They said, I'm in my car. I'm driving there now and figuring this out for you guys. So Liberty's like here in Hamptons, like here there's a like a dividing wall lot entrance dividing the two. Oh, this little renderings. Nice. Look at this little photo. Yeah. Wow. That's actually, that's really cool. It's a really cool spot. Go there, get some brunch. They got a cool box. [inaudible] Cost per meal per person. You're probably looked in your standard 12 to 15 bucks for the meal depending on what you get.

00:25:19       And then cool. $10 short cocktail. Yeah. That's not bad for a kind of town. Restaurant. The normal, what appears to be happening. Nice. They got some B roll of their on their website. Let's a read some more. Oh Hey. By the way, the China people just wrote me back after I sent them a message earlier today about are we going, this is live, this is live, this is happening. This is live for us. [inaudible] Happening right now. So they wrote me back and said, hello Jordan am Jordan. My name is now spelled J. O. R N. A. M. So please fix that on the pod podcast if you could Jordan. And it'd be great. Exotic, affordable, unforgettable experiences in a safe environment. Well, that's the headline that I could read through. You know, when you get the, yeah, when you get that little bit of it, a little push notification, somebody else talk because I'm trying to figure this out.

00:26:15       All right, so some of the things on the Hampton socials menu, you have a lobster roll, you have fish and chips. You have Smashburger $13 a French Turkey dip. That sounds pretty good. 1450 the Hampton Mac and cheese. Then you have grilled cheese. This is for brunch and lunch. So I guess it's the same, but their avocado toes, as you said, it looks fricking incredible. They have Parmesan fries, roasted sprouts. They so they have a barbecue chicken piece though with pesto sauce or is it a tomato? Right? Onions, premiere cheese blend cilantro. And know it's sad. We, we, we, we ate a small lunch before we came here and you're ready to yeah, it was kind of thing. The same thing. Yeah. So I had this phone doesn't want to work so well, no, we can't hear about this. China, you have to wait for the next time we're hanging with [inaudible].

00:27:08       Right. Exactly. All right, well then yeah, by that time it'd be right before I leave for China because when we're in January, if you leave for truck, if I leave for China, yeah. You may be going somewhere else. I know Australia may not be the best option right now. Maybe like up North like Canada. I would love to go. We were trying to go to BAMF this year. I would love to go the man, come on with the, come on. I seen the the 13 feet of snow that they got and 12 hours in Newfoundland. Nope, that's incredible. I want to be resolved. There is a time lapse. A guy put on his porch like a GoPro and he did a time lapse and you just see 13 feet of snow or so in 12 hours. It's insane. Where are you guys excited?

00:27:49       As I was when we got the flurries, yes ago. Yes. That made me so happy. I know. I wish it actually would snow here because we've had the video plans for the perfect winter day for almost two years now and we have, we have an ed Snowden do it. Yeah. Terrible. I know. We need more snow. It's crazy. It's for a little bit. Not a lot, right? We just need to be down for like three days. I know. Everyone will be happy. We'll have some snowball fights. Yeah, we could set up a snowman building contest. That'd be fun. That'd be so fun. What I really want to do when it snows is I want to get a sled and go down the Hill of the Capitol Hill. A sled. I think that would be a second or third or probably second, right? No, I'm thinking the one, the Capitol Hill, Capitol Hill going down.

00:28:33       Oh, that would be, well, I thought of that last time it snowed. I was driving by it. I went, well, I still get my snowboard and I want to go down that Hill. I saw a a, I saw a sled at Walmart the other day and I'm like, there's no snow here, Walmart. Why are you selling sleds? But I may just buy one, keep it in my car just in case. Just in case. It's one of those things. You should always have a son. Are you going to get the, the, the wax that goes on the bottom, like in Christmas vacation, just talking about plastic sled. Now, if I really wanted to get a sled, I have a toboggan back home. Not the toboggan that you guys call down here. A beanie like that. The hat called a beanie. It's called a beanie. That's what it's called.

00:29:14       Bonds and bond calls them. That's weird. It's like grocery cards. What? Buggies people call it buggies down here. Buggy. Buggy. That confuses me. Next time we're going to do a list of words that you, the proper nomenclature versus what people call here in South. Yeah, that's great. It's so weird that people use the term buggy. Yeah. I think of, I think of like Amish country. Yeah. I used to get my cow, like we would get a cow killed every year butchered and then bring it to our freezer. And I think of the Amish country when somebody says buggy, I wonder if the pure definition is some form of cart cart with wheels that is being pulled by an animal. I think it's just when a kid sees a bug and he goes buggy. But, so we have a, we have actually a toboggan backup in New York where I'm from and it's a six foot sled and it could hold five people and we have the wax for it and everything. It's a hundred, I think 105 years old. Handmade wood. Absolutely incredible. And there was one Hill that we would take it up near my house and I'm talking like, this is like a steep, you raise it. Oh yeah, we'll raise it. And we track the speed once and it was going 45, 50 miles an hour down a Hill with three people on it. So, and we will wax it like every single time we used it, we waxed it. So it was a fun experience growing up with that.

00:30:36       One of the when I was a little kid, probably 10 or so one of the nights before we knew it was gonna snow. My cousin and I, we, we kind of made a game plan and we got up really early in the morning. We the, the hose was frozen. We were, so our plan was we were icing our path. Oh, that we're going to snow down, we're going to sled down. And then we built a ramp as well out of snow and we want it to ice it all. So the hose was frozen, so we couldn't use that. So we literally had to bring in water from buckets from the sink inside and commitment. Yeah. And we froze the entire path, froze the ramp and like it was flying. We were flying like there's no way we ever made it like a, a successful landing cause we just went flying. But it was so much fun. I miss that. Like I miss being able to do things in the snow. We had Tennessee

00:31:32       Growing up, we lived at the base of a mountain and every winter it would snow quite a bit up there and we'd go up to this church camp and they had a inner tube rides. Oh, that's awesome. With a full blown course that you kind of go down. My brothers and I, we'd all go together and when we were on individual, the challenge would be can you jump off your inner tube to tackle the person next to you? Oh, that's all your fun. So I've practiced with that for water tubing. Yeah. Not snow tubing though. So growing up I had a three Hills surrounding my house and there was small, like little bunny Hill type things. And so we will just lay down those all the time. But we'll play demolition Derby. Yes. On sleds. And so there'd be 15 of us lined up literally, and we're hitting each other going down this Hill and like it got bloody sometimes.

00:32:25       That's what I'm talking about. Kids know now. I'm almost a little afraid to do some of those. I break something and I don't like, I have insurance now, but like two years ago I didn't have insurance. If I broke something, I'm like, Oh, I'm out. I know you [inaudible] Oh my backers. Oops. The, literally that was me this morning, but told Stewart I was like, I don't know. I didn't break a rib, but it feels like I did. I don't know what I didn't know. Do you have a video? Do you have any videos of you doing anything outrageous or something where you hurt yourself? I, yes. I need to find them. I have videos of us letting each other on fire and I'm going to need you to find out [inaudible] at each other. So if any children are listening to this, this is not advised, please do not do this at home.

00:33:09       But you take X body spray and you spray yourself with ax. And the thing about Axe body spray is it doesn't actually like stick into your fabric. That's why it smells so terrible. And so you can light it on fire and you don't get caught on fire. And so we used to run around and just cover each other in acts. Please do not try this at home. Please don't try this at home. If you were discretion is advice for this one, eh, or listener discretion is advised. But you, we would cover each other in acts and then we'll just run at each other while we're playing like tag. So you're running from the fire or from the smell or the person? That was it. Well, both. Both. Yeah. The person who was it with like himself on fire, then that's a new version of free stack.

00:33:52       So it only lasts like maybe eight seconds. And so he had to keep like spraying himself and light himself on fire. But hopefully my mom doesn't listen to this episode, even realize I did this one now that is incredible. But we used to so we used to have BB gun fights. Oh yeah. And people don't do that now. I don't even know if people use BB guns any longer. Maybe airsoft, maybe. Yeah. But definitely did that back when I was not even all that young, early twenties. I played [inaudible] area where it's kind of abandoned and friends and I, we just pull out automatic airsoft guns and just light each other up. Yeah, that's, Oh man. But we used to play beat you BB guns, but the CBeebies hurt way more than one. My brother shot BB gun when I was younger and those things hurt.

00:34:39       There was a guy who had like this, like, thanks Eric. Ted if hair. And it was like huge and we pumped up the BB so hard, it actually made a hole through his hair. Yeah. That's incredible. So, and then we used to have pineal and Boris, that's what we didn't learn, or younger will get pine corn cones and throw them at each other. And then the worst was bamboo Wars, fresh bamboo growing in the woods and trying to whip each other and we will whip each other. And so I actually a kid whipped me on the sh on the shoulder and he started causing, like, I started bleeding immediately and so I was angry. And so I whipped it him in his face. He had to get 18 stitches on his side of his cheek. That family ended up believing moving like a month later after that.

00:35:21       And I wonder why they couldn't afford the medical bill anymore. So we had a, an apricot tree growing up in the backyard. And those when they're not, when they're non ripe, they're small and green and incredibly hard. Oh, we used to take those things and just Huck them at each other. Oh yeah. In the face. The neck. Oh yeah. And then we would play baseball with him as well. We'd grab a wiffle bat and just pitch and whale. Oh yeah. Look at baseball in a bat. I've done my friends and I, this is, you know, the stupid things we do. But we had a a poker chip set and instead of playing poker, we decided to go down the basement, turn off the lights and throw them at each other until we, especially the, that live flipping it right. Like her real poker chips. Yeah. Clay bloke baseball. We were all baseball players throwing poker chips at each other. Did you guys ever play quarters? No. No quarters. But your knuckles down and you slide the corridor. Oh, see I played a different version of quarters and again, I actually started a mini gambling ring in junior high school.

00:36:28       Well, you take the quarter and you just find a wall and you toss it towards the wall. Who's whatever quarters the closest wins. All the quarters wins the quarters. That's a good game. Oh, I used just started this whole playing quarters in junior high and we'd walk around. People just stacks a quarters. Oh my God. Walk with 10, 12 bucks every day. It was awesome. The most dangerous. And they caught on and realized we were gambling in school and tried to shut it down. So then we would cut a hole on the inside liner of our, the waistband of our pants to hide the quarters. And it's a way we can play at lunch and try and find a way. And that way your pockets were still empty? Yeah. Wow. Huh. I, the most dangerous game that we played in school was the circle game. What started with the circle game.

00:37:14       So you'll probably, it's where you hold like your, your thumb and your index finger together. Kind of like you're making it. Okay. Sign, put it on your leg each other. As long as if somebody looks at it and it's below your waist, then you get to punch them. Well, you put your finger through the hole, right? Then they get a punch, right? Yeah. I think we played it. We broke it or something like that. We broke the circle. But the way that we would play it, we would, we didn't have to punch each other immediately. Oh, you could wait. That's you could we use the worst. And so like we had people who, it's like the slap bed, we would wait. You know, you're like, Oh, somebody got like two punches on somebody and then they're sitting behind somebody else in class and then like just in the middle of the class while nobody's paying attention, you just boom.

00:37:59       Oh, that's the best ad. Yeah. So that that was a, because it's more of the fear behind it. It's not, it's not the F the, it's not that actual pain. Yes, it's probably there, but it's the fear of anticipation of when it's going to happen. Yup. Did. What did, did you guys play where you could just punch each other's arms or like anywhere in the body? It was anywhere and the worst place was right on the knee because then your leg would essentially just die for a second. Okay. Now laid that hard. We've like, occasionally if we're hitting people in the face, I'll just a slap bet. Right? Jordan mentioned if we're doing the punching of strictly the arms, see I wish, I wish we had made that rolls. We weren't that smart. No, we were just not that loud in the mid, lower and the, you know, yeah.

00:38:45       That private section. You're not allowed to hit the dirt. Everyone knows square. I'm sorry, what? You haven't heard of it? What am I missing out on? I had never heard this term before. It's called the no-nos square, but I have no idea where it's from. It's the no, no square call in one 800 no, no, no, no square. Wow. Look that up. I bet you that's something. I know. Don't look that up. Nobody looked that up. Yeah. Wow. That's, Oh, that's crazy. That's funny. I like that term. No, no square said baseball. There's a video of me out there where I blew out my knee in a batting cage from from swinging and, and serving too hard. Yeah. Yeah. Cause that's what you do. I thought it'd be a really good idea to go into a batting cage with sandals on a dumb person that will do it.

00:39:35       It's out there. I know it's on Facebook because every year get a memory. My, your memories. Well, it's not my memory. Well, it does come up on mine, but I really look at Facebook, but my brother in law where if you want to know anything about what's going on in his life, he will let you know via Facebook. But it's his happiest day of the year along with my entire family because I'm in excruciating pain. Did he record the, the, the whole, the whole thing? I'm on the floor rolling back and forth. Oh, it's, it's very funny to watch. So. Wow. I've had a batting cage injury as well. Somebody who's, I got hit in almost a temple with a, with a straight line drive in the batting cage. Not fun. Yeah, but see that's not your fault. This was, I was just stupid. Oh, the injuries.

00:40:26       I know they're bad. I had a few skateboarding injuries back in the day. I pulled my entire groin, the skateboarding. So I don't think I've ever said this on the podcast, but I don't think I've heard this story. Yeah. So I so I was, I was playing football in ninth grade and I actually got injured on any game. They took me to the hospital and everything. And they actually found out that I have a disease in my back called Sherman's kyphosis. And so I had to wear a back brace. They left five times faster. Mormons, kyphosis, it's hard. But I had to wear a back brace full blown back brace up to my neck with a neck guard, chest guard, all of it. And it's because my vertebraes were touching when I was a child. And so that took me away from all sports after that.

00:41:09       And so I had to wear this back brace everyday in high school, got picked on for it tremendously. And so I had braces also and I had a broken wrist from another thing. I don't remember why I did that, but then I was skateboarding. You're really just trying to make it easy for people growing up. And then I was skateboarding so like I can not, where there's like certain times I couldn't wear, like didn't have to wear my brace. For the first year was, I had an hour a day where I couldn't wear it, which was great. So I could take a shower and then like do something for a half an hour. And so I was skateboarding and I, my board went one way, my leg went another way, pulled my entire groin on Sunday afternoon. They rushed me to the emergency room, nine and a half hours to see a doctor and they're like, Hey, your groin is pulled, we can't do anything.

00:41:56       And then the next day I had a Spanish final and so I showed up at school and like they brought me in a wheelchair and everyone was just like watching. I had to take a Spanish final in a wheelchair because I had so many injuries on my body. So we needed that. You needed to be the real bubble boy, not Jake Gyllenhaal. Okay. Yeah. What does that Jake Gyllenhaal? I believe so. Wow. It's been so long, but I think so. Yeah. I have no idea. That movie was interesting. I hurt myself in the, no, no square with a skateboard. Okay. That's not fun. No. Oh no. That's lots of pain, huh? That was, I've had a few injuries, but not a ton. I've been pretty good. Oh, I have a question. I have hopefully an answer. Have you seen 1917 yet?

00:42:45       I am a failure as a cinematographer. I haven't seen, I have not seen it yet, but I am dying to seem to go. So Amanda desperately long way in 40 X. Yep. Which is that new like interactive theater where the seats move. They blow air Aly. They shoot water at you. What theater mills opera. What is, what was that? Oh, it was that, I didn't see that at Disney world. I saw it for me, the one, I was like three, so I barely remember it. Okay. Was the Michael Jackson one okay. Probably only at Disneyland. Not Disney world. Okay. Because Disney world had a bug's life and then they had another one that was like, honey, I shrunk the kids. Yeah. See that replaced the captain EO. Oh, okay. At cause it's in the, what's the tomorrow land. Okay. It's in that area. But that's where they, I remember having that and they're just splashing water at you and shooting air and do all that.

00:43:43       I'm not sure if I really, you enjoyed them. So it was hopeless. So the, I don't even like watching stuff. 3D I hate 3d I can't stand it. Is this 40? Is it in three D as well? No, 1917. It's two yet. It's two D but I'm so they had a little teaser video before the movie started. What the capabilities of everything and it's like this teacher's was like a 45 second teaser in your seats moving up and down splashes and fire. Like you said, they actually have fans on the room where you get like warm, like it's super interactive. These ladies sitting next to us was screaming the entire time. And so by the time the teaser ended, I'm sitting there in this chair, literally like crying cause I'm laughing so hard and but the 40 X in the 1917 movie wasn't like super intense.

00:44:33       There are scenes where like, he would go down into a trench and then all of a sudden your seat would like yank down. Did you have to wear like a seatbelt? No, not this one. Okay. Now. I've heard in some movies like the dark night and like very car chasing movies. They're making these opera mills, Opry mills add a, they have a 40 X 40 X. It's the only one in Nashville. Wow. Yeah. So that's the one I kind of normally go to because I go to that or the one on a hundred Oaks. Any like dirt thrown on, you know, that would be interesting. But when he like there's a scene in the trailer where he goes, he falls into the river. Right? Yeah. You get missed. So miss comes at you. That's crazy. So it's a, it was a really cool experience.

00:45:20       I would definitely recommend seeing 1917. It deserve the movie of the year. It deserves the best director of the year. How has it not, it's incredible. People are going to be talking to about that one for awhile. I think I would compare it to saving private Ryan, like to that quality I have that I am so far behind. That's what I should be doing. I should be watching movies right now. Hey, my downtime. Regal has the unlimited thing. It's $20 I'm trying to cut down on all of my subscriptions that I understand there's 1500 that's how you have to have this. It's no longer, you're just paying your, everyone's paying the same amount of money still, right. Just bringing it to different people. Right. Instead of one cable bill, Netflix, Hulu, Disney, your Amazon prime, Disney plus ESPN plus or ESPN HBO go. Yeah, Yoko peanut.

00:46:10       Yeah. Which is actually a channel, right? I know they've made a channel, which is insane, which is incredible. I watched a the other day starts and bowling and no, it was, it was like I'm something real. No, so it was like this tower white man trifecta. It was arts and bowling. It was all tower racing up the stairs and they all oiled these stairs of baby oil and you had to get up these like this tower, Chinese game shows or the Japanese games taking over best OTO. So I could watch the Osho eight on ESPN. It's a legit channel now, which is insane, which is great and I'm glad that they did that. That's how you learn from great filmmaking, you then create what they came up with. Yeah. Because people will then like it. But I'm far behind. I still haven't seen once upon a time in Hollywood.

00:46:57       I haven't seen that either versus Ferrari. I haven't seen that one yet. 1917 great. The new bad boys movie, I still want to see that just came out. How do you not want to see that? Right. I'm 100% in that. I can quote the entire bad boys two movie. That's a great one. Yeah. That's kind of sad. I used to be able to quote the entire lion King when I was a kid. That's awesome. It's just about every Adam Sandler movie. Yeah. It's in my brain. They actually kind of stopped after happy Gilmore. Really? Yeah. He didn't, he didn't really do it for me after that. It was, it was click for me. Click was the one that I was like, okay, you know, it's, it's gone a completely different direction. But he, in the past two years, he's put out about five or six movies.

00:47:43       Not bad. Have you seen the cobbler? Yeah, color's great. Fantastic. So good. Here's a Shoemaker and then his last movie, he was a diamond, like cutter, like diamond trader underground. It's supposed to be like his biggest drama he's ever done and it's getting really good reviews. So the one that's out right now, the uncut. Yeah, I heard some so many. He just dropped them on Netflix. You just turn on Netflix. They're like, there's a new movie. Yeah. They might say he's trying to win his Oscar. Once he gets his Oscar, then he's dead. He produces it. It's the same production company that he's always had and he's just like dropping him. He's just going strong. Oh, that's crazy. What's the new one with what's the, what's the new gangster film that's coming out? The gentleman, yes, it comes out on came out this Friday.

00:48:29       Next coming to this upcoming Friday. This upcoming Friday. Right. Yeah, that looks incredibly good too. There's so many out there that are coming up. I need to go spend some time. Finally, I was waiting for it before the end of last year. I want to say September, October, November. Nothing good was coming out all the time. I want to go, I want to go. Nothing good. Now everything is there. I'm doing it wrong because now is the time where I actually have time to go see it and I'm not going because I'm trying to save money. Right. Yeah. Right. It's January. We don't understand that. Good old January. Yeah, it's snowing. Yeah, it would be. It would be. It's really going to be a slow season. Make it so you really have to stay indoors. Yeah. I'm I'm, I'm an a hybrid native creature by nature for the cold, so I'm unsure if it's, I know you're always in shorts now.

00:49:22       I wore pants earlier this week when it was, when it was 1920s. Yeah. That's the, if I wasn't outside I was 20. Would you have been in shorts to get depends. It depends on the window. It's all about the wind. Like if the wind is more than like 15 miles an hour, then I'm in shorts. Okay. Yeah. Sorry. But I don't know. I wish with guys know what's up with the news. Do we got any news to cover? There's a few things that are happening. So let's see, what do we have here in Nashville? The Ryman the Ryman is going to create a new wild horse events space in Nashville, like wild horse as in we get to ride them. So have you been in style jumping and doing tricks? Not unless you take the, the plastic ones that are in the wild boars venue.

00:50:10       Have you been to the WildHorse saloon on second Avenue? Yeah. Yeah. So they're going to create a new event space. They're going to convert a one 14 second Avenue into a 10,000 square foot. Private event space is all going to be a private, it's going to cost one 14 at the wild horse Apple. There's been a lot of numbering in the naming system in the past year. Yeah. Like a on that building way to, to the two to two is 1212 Broadway, 1200 Broadway. Yeah. The five Oh five people are really getting creative. So we reach into a, what's the name of that food hall going into fifth and broad. I literally thought about this the other day and I can't remember what the one that they're building that's supposed to be this whole food court area and the housing, and let me, let me, let me check what this is called.

00:50:59       But so the Ryman basically they're going to accommodate large and small groups for private events, receptions and everything. But you, you know what's, what's actually cool as we're talking about Ryman cause Ryman is owned by, or the wild WildHorse is owned by Ryman hospitalities yup. Right. I, I found something, I took a Lyft the other day with somebody who used to work for, for Gaylord and, and the grand old Opry for a while. And I learned that there was a ship called the music city queen [inaudible] a while back. It's not one that I, I don't think it's operational anymore. But I had just learned about it the other day. I'm sure you know a little bit about it. Well, so there's the Mississippi queen I know a lot about, which is one of the first barge type showboats, right?

00:51:49       Yeah. So the Mississippi queen comes here once or twice a year to den bring people back to new Orleans. Right. So the music city queen I thought was a show boat that was used from like the fifties to the nineties so yes. And then I think once it was done with operation, Gaylord bought it. Okay. And so I think it's rusting. I believe so. I, I don't think it's not wrestling under water. No, I don't think so. I think it's, it's, it's still owned by Gaylord and may be over there where the general Jackson departs from over there by opera land. They should do like Huck Finn tours and go down the Mississippi. How cool would that be? Like I'm just really shocked. Like apparently with Lewis and Clark expedition type thing, that would be fantastic if you're going to be going through like residential communities and trespassing on people, just wave to them, Hey, we're doing this. [inaudible]

00:52:41       Yeah. One of the things that was interesting about that is they said that for about a year, Gaylord had a transportation on the Cumberland from Gaylord to downtown and back for about a year. She said it was fantastic. It worked really well. Like things were booked and then they stopped after a year. That sounds amazing. Yeah. Like the fact that we're not using the Cumberland to its full potential right now is insane to get from West Nashville to East Nashville. Like it would be so easy. Oh, it would be awesome. Because we I lived back at the end of McGavick area. [inaudible] I was reading some stuff back in the day where that, because McGavick then goes over where you get off, you know, one of the, where you can go to the opera. Yeah. National palace and all that cool stuff over there. Yeah. They used to run a ferry from there over to the backside of East Nashville back in the day.

00:53:34       It used to cost like 10 cents and you know, there you go. Now you've got to go around and take Briley. It's all this other guy that was there. Heck yeah, you could. There are spots where you could dock boats and come up and then take that all the way to West, you know the West side of town. Yeah, I don't for the life, man. I don't understand why the general Jackson is pretty much the only thing that you can buy tickets for and consistently, consistently on regular basis. And it's not even a ferry, it's just a showboat that's shown. It's an expensive show, but it's like $60 a ticket. Yeah. Does that include food and drinks? It's a show food and a drink and like dinner and everything, but [inaudible] down there sometime. Right. But I'd be like, I just want to get on a boat and go on the Cumberland.

00:54:18       Like there's no like $10 to get on a ferry to take a ride somewhere else. And usually anywhere else that has some kind of river ocean or anything like that, they'll have, big cities will have that. For those of you who own a boat, I'm looking for a new friend who owns one, so please hit me up, send me a direct message on Instagram. I am Jordan Hyde. That'd be great. One of my good friends used to have a boat and he decided to get rid of it. So he's dead to me in the front of the boat. Have you heard about the Nashville boat subscriptions? Thought about it. $500 a month or something like spending that. It's a lot. That's why I need a friend who already owns one. Yeah. Happy to pay for gas. Here you go. Ring on food and drinks. Yes.

00:54:55       That's so funny of you listening out there. Have that ability. Summer is coming and we need to get you a tan. Yeah. You know, you could have a new friend, you could make fun of me and I'll just be there. So the food hall that's going into fifth and Broadway is called assembly food hall. Yeah, that's assembly food hall. That's why we can't remember it cause it's so easy. So it's very generic. Like they spent a lot of time on that name. How do you guys feel about all this stuff going on in town? I love construction and everything. I love it. I think for, for us, I think it's beneficial for our content that we make for the podcast, for our YouTube content for longterm strategies with our company. I think it's incredible. The only thing I wish we could change this transit.

00:55:40       Yeah. Yeah. That's the only thing I, I wish we can have an immediate change to, right? Because I, I believe there's, there's so much to do in Nashville now. Like I remember when I first moved here and I was looking at apartments that I talked to somebody and, and you know, the, the woman who is across the desk said, I have lived here my whole life and I haven't gotten to do even, you know, remotely close to everything that there is to offer. And you know, that that may be different for other Nashvillians, but for her, you know, she wanted to go see these things. She just hasn't done all the things. And you know, Nashville is adding new restaurants, what seems like every day new announcements for job opportunities and everything are, are opening up and you know, think that trans

00:56:24       Is one of those things that you know, may be holding back the opportunity or because once we alleviate traffic then that, you know, that our ride that it could take somebody to go there, you know, may stop them from going to check out that one thing. And you know, if if they knew, Hey, I could just hop on this bus or this trolley or something like that and, and get there within 45 minutes and I don't have to take my own car, especially if it's somewhere where you just want to grab a drink or two and then hop back. I think that would open up a lot of opportunities for even the people who live here, not just tourists to go see other places that they don't normally get to otherwise. Sure.

00:57:02       Well I don't, I, I'm not a fan of tearing down the old stuff. That's the only thing I don't like. Yes and no. I think some old stuff needs to go, like, just because it was built in the mid 18 hundreds doesn't mean it should be still around. Like I just, unless it has a very significant historical value, that's where like I would argue on that side. But if I remember correctly, last time you were on, you said you've still never been to Cheekwood. No, I still haven't been to Cheekwood so I didn't go for Christmas, none of that stuff. So I wouldn't go now. It's, it's, it's dead right now. Wait until the spring when the flowers are in bloom and everything. It's beautiful. But like, I know people here in Nashville, I've lived here for 30, 40 years. They haven't seen Cheekwood, the Hermitage Bellmead plantation, RCA studio B. And so I think there's so many opportunities here that people take for granted with how deep Nashville is rooted in American history.

00:58:00       Oh yeah. I'm going a lot here. And just society and culture. Like Elvis Presley recorded a third of his library of music at RCA studio B here in Nashville. Most people don't really recognize that. So I just, I think there's a lot of missed opportunities for locals and they just don't know about these things or they just never want like partake in doing these things. Yeah, interesting fact, fact, topic, topic, something like that. But yeah, I, I like the growth. If, if a building has historical context that's important to Nashville history, don't knock it down. But if it's irrelevant to Nashville history,

00:58:41       Right. It was, if it was just like, let's take for example, call the brick. The ride is amazing. I love the books. Great. But let's take like the, the the, the old meat factory in Germantown. Yeah. I think that's a good example. So it's old. It's brick. They caught on fire. [inaudible] Cut them. Right. It caught on fire last year. I'm not sure how, I don't think we've ever released on that, but you know, it, it doesn't apart from the German immigrants who came here and kind of started that area back in the 18 hundreds, I believe. You know, they, they built that, it was a great facility for them. It has a lot of significance as far as maybe that neighborhood.

00:59:23       But as far as for Nashville as a whole, maybe even the U S like it was, it didn't belong to anybody famous, you know, it didn't, it I think is, is that what gonna go with the, the new German town development? I think par. They're keeping the stack, they're keeping up the smoke stack and you say, you know what I'm talking about in German town, that old big chemo side redo the insights. I think that's what they're doing. Have you heard of the you're going to have to say the word Aaron. The may hosiery. Oh, may hosiery. This is in what would he say? Houston and this place, this place knew to stay. So in the early 19 hundreds, it was a sock manufacturing plant and the guy produced the socks for the American prison system. And then in a war war he saw what was happening with Germany and the political division that was starting to happen.

01:00:15       And I, I believe he was from Germany or, or close to or Eastern Europe. I can't remember. And so he went back over to Europe and he brought 300 or more Jewish people from that region to America to work for him. That place turned into a bomb factory in world war two. And so the Jewish people that were basically redeemed at that time from not going to the concentration camps were making bombs. The bomb, the Germans that places full of history it, they made the first socks for the first astronauts in space and now Apple music is turning that into [inaudible]. Yeah. That's where they're going. Right. So they're preserving it the whole outside of it's preserved, right? Yeah, it's, it's getting it's, it's being gutted. It's getting a facelift and facelift. Yup. You know, but the original feel and context and shell is still there.

01:01:12       Nice. Have you ever passed marathon village? Yeah. So marathon village is registered on the national registry of historic places. Right. But the problem is so they want to redo all the bricks on part of the front of it. The problem is, is marathon village is registered on that thing. There's not national United States. Right. Do, what is it for national or the United States that have treasure stirred with? It's with the United States. So it's got a little bit of a higher, has a higher thing, not just Nashville, like historical society, but from what I was reading and what I've heard, there's only two break a brick masons in the entire country that can touch historical buildings because they have the generations of training. And so a lot of these buildings I have that like type of historical value can even be touched by the actual experts because these experts are backed up for three or four years in the bricklaying world.

01:02:08       It's a super interesting topic. That's really neat. Yeah. For those of you just tuning in right now to hang in with Hyde, we are doing history hour, which is pretty cool. I like it. Yeah. So I think that's, that's kind of how Nashville is, is going in that direction is I would say in 15 to 20 years, a lot of this will be mixed together. Because that's just how Nashville will be. And, and you know, for me, going back to New York or going to New York for the first time, that's kind of what you see in part of New York is you see some older buildings, you know, surrounded by new buildings. So like what they do with Chelsea market. Have you been the Chelsea market? What they do have? Chelsea market and that was the butcher butchering the shirk in New York city and what they did with it.

01:02:50       Now with having the YouTube studio and all of that shared like a shopping space and everything. Yeah. It's incredible. Yeah. It's one, it's a great space. It's such a cool space across the street that Starbucks reserve, that place is cool. Yeah. That's like the only Starbucks I actually really, really enjoy. Yeah. But it's terrible coffee there. Go to the roastery, the roasteries amazing. And it's, it's one of the only places in or coffee shops that I know of. There are, there are several others that siphon for you there. They'd probably do it differently there than they do with their regular stores. Yeah. That's why. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. For sure. Huh? Did I let us on a new tangent? I think I asked a question and then we got away from the events for the day. Kind of. All right. Yeah, that's okay. There's not too many of them.

01:03:38       What else you got for me? So let's see. Highlights, what people, what can we talk about? Well, let's see what's happening. Tonight we have Aaron Lewis at the Ryman that's happening at seven 30. I believe the the time for the opera. He's almost done the last weekend was this, this week three that would be back there, Ryman auditorium, and then they're going back up to the operating now. So the November, end of November, December and January, the opera has a residency at the Ryman auditorium. Right. And then it goes back to Opry. Okay. And also at 7:00 PM predators are playing the Toronto maple Leafs at Bridgestone. Whew. So that'll be super fun. Now the the Preds pretty much both teams have new coaches. Yeah, both teams. Both teams. I didn't know they fired Badcock up in Toronto as well. Really? Wow. Yeah. That's how often Aaron and I pay attention to things.

01:04:31       I knew the predators will keep up with the predators. But yeah, so that's 7:00 PM now the full attention of the sports world. It's gonna be on the Preds for Nashville. Since I have full intentions on my 40 Niners for next weekend. Oh yeah, that'll be, that'd be where are you watching the game? You know what? I'm not sure yet. We've, did you sign up for the Hattie B's hot chicken giveaway? No, I don't know what, what is that? What? Try giving away enough hot chicken to feed 25 people. Wow. Yeah. I think they, I don't know if they've announced it yet, but they were literally giving them enough chicken away to feed 25. Well, I'm going to go in and do that thing now. We were trying to do, we were trying to figure that out if we wanted to go out somewhere and watch it or if we were going to do a party at the house, something like that.

01:05:16       I'm not sure. I house parties more now that I'm old and decrepit so well, it's also saves you money. You don't have to pay for parking. The benefits. Yeah. I don't have to go anywhere. I know people could then, but you, but then I have to throw the party, which means I have to buy everything and do all that. And last time two Superbowls ago we had a huge party and we set up a whole step and repeat photo area and through grad school hold lights up, set the whole thing for people to do, which was kind of cool. So I'd like to do that again. I'm just not sure because now that the 40 Niners are in it and you won't pay Jimmy Robelo is we like to call him the handsome one at our house because he's a gorgeous man and a wonderful quarterback.

01:06:05       I'm going to be very, very nervous as I have been all play off a season so far where I'm screaming and yelling and banging on the wall and getting crazy and nervous and shaking profusely. Yeah, you get nervous. You never know what's going to happen. You won't make it good because watching the game like that. No, no, not at all. Flip up a table. If something goes wrong I'd lose it. Oh boy. We also have whiskey jam happening at winners. Have you been to a whiskey jam? Whiskey jam is awesome. It's great. It's great. The, the fact that they do this almost every week is amazing. They do it two times a week. Mondays and Thursdays and then they have a Friday show three or four times a week, a month, a Hendersonville. Even during the winter. During the winter. Yes. They're not doing the big outdoor thing. It's like they like, yeah, it's still inside but they do it. They pull it off every Monday, Thursday and then up in Hendersonville like every Friday. Yup. Fantastic job with that. And then Zulu rumination is happening about a week left at that. That's at the national zoo. Largest Chinese festival of lights in the country. And I want to go to that. You know what? I'm very bitter with the whole Chinese thing right now. I shouldn't go to that or you should to get your attitude back up cause you're look at the China trip.

01:07:26       As soon as I get home today, I'm going to let everybody know. Our China trip is now to the Nashville zoo. I support the local economy right there it is. Oh man. Stuart, anything else in the, in the Nashville scene going on? Well, I want to talk about rise for a second. Rise biscuits don't, that's whatever it's called now rise. Aaron and I went there the other day. Have you had rise yet? And I have five Oh five. So it's a chicken biscuit house I serve down. That's as well. And we might end up there after this podcast probably. Maybe. but we actually so I typically get like the Buffalo chicken or I get the honey chicken. And so I'm like, I'm going to combine these things. Let's combine my two favorite like chickens type things that rise to different chicken. One, two different chickens.

01:08:12       I wish it was two different chicken patties in one. That'd be amazing. But so I got the cut it up. Yeah. To kind of down the middle and splice them together. Yeah, that'd be amazing. I don't know how that works. Cat with two heads. Yeah, exactly. But, so I had a, the Buffalo chicken biscuit with the, like the regular just biscuit. And then I said, Hey, let's dizzle diesel. Let's drizzle diesel is my nickname, Jordan and ISIL. Jordan. Let's take some of that honey and put that on there. And so then I aided with the Buffalo blue cheese and the honey incredible is fantastic chicken sandwich. So that's why I wanted to talk about for a brief second. Nice. Yeah. Rise is fantastic. Like you, you can't get enough of it. It's one of the, yeah. Oh, I meant to say this.

01:09:01       Early on in the podcast I ran into somebody it was the same Lyft driver who was talking about their experience at Gaylord. I found somebody else who also does not like biscuit, love. Oh, cheers to that person. Yeah. I have no coffee in my cup. If I'm lifting my cup to that person and saying, cheese rises. Sponsor, no, no, we are not a sponsor. I do. I want to hear about a sponsor, a sponsor. This episode of Nashville daily is brought to you by screen. The threads screen threads is a Nashville CUREE shop located in historic marathon village. You use code Nashville daily. You get 10% off your next online order. Their website is screened, threads.com mentioned this ad in the store and get 10% off as well. I'm going to mention that ad man. I'm daily stuff. Dude. Nashville t-shirts, Nashville hat.

01:09:46       I actually like your Tristar hat that you're wearing right now. This man on this one. Yeah, I like where did you get that one? I don't remember. I don't know. It's nice. I like [inaudible]. Yeah, it's solid tumor hat though because of sweat. Yeah, I know. Yeah. And I don't like it when I sweat cause then when you sweat it starts to get, you kind of start to see it on that. You really have to make a choice of the hat, whether it's going to be a dirty head or a clean hat. Yeah. Cause I feel like 30 makes that choice with hats and shoes. I'm horrible, right? Yeah. For sure. I've got a really good friend of mine, Patrick, who has a sneaker collection. I don't know how he does it. Crazy. Patrick, I'm going to make you listen to this cause I'm talking about you.

01:10:27       I mean, he has this massive sneaker collection and that's his joy is every, I'm telling you, almost every other week he buys a new pair of sneakers. It's him and his wife's budget for him to buy a new spy. Sneakers. Does he? Does he sell her fully clean? Keeps them. Wow. And they're all, does he wear one of your new balance right here? Look, and they're like white, but now they're already dirty. Yeah. Dirty pair now trusted to go out and keep things clean with shoes. You really had to make it as like, I've had the same pair of shoes that I use exclusively for when I go play basketball or racketball because that's, that's the way they're designed. They're designed, this is me just being out and about, but I can't do it. That's the only pair of shoes I, I have successfully kept clean because I've made that pack to myself that I'm only gonna use it for that purpose.

01:11:20       When I leave the gym, they're not on my feet. I only put them on on the court. Okay. But that's the only kind of discipline I've ever had with shoes. I typically just wear flip flops all year round. So I don't have any type of shoes. I have one pair of sneakers. Yeah. Shorts and one pair of sneakers. Yeah. Everybody's simple man. I want to get to the point where I'm literally wearing the same shirt. Like I have a multiple variety. Like, like I have like 10 of the same shirt and I just want to wear that. That's all I want to wear. You scare me. Why? Because that scares me. You're so lucky you're married right now. Imagine if you were dating, you tried to do that. You would never pull it off. Maybe, I don't know. It's second guessing yourself. Now if you are needing t-shirts, screen threads I've always wanted to start my own, you know, like t-shirt, whatever company.

01:12:10       But I always want to do weird things that people probably wouldn't like actually take care of all of your custom apparel and product fulfillment. So if your need, if you're wanting to start an eCommerce store, screen's rights can take care of all of that. Yeah. You guys got a new customer. I'm coming. Fantastic. Say yes to strangers. That's my new company. That's, that's a, that's lift an Uber for you. Right? They're creepy. Apparently. People show up to your house, pick you up and take you somewhere. Well, not only that apparently. Does this take you out feature of I think Uber, Lyft, and don't hold me to this because I saw this on Reddit, but I believe it's a feature where you can have somebody just come and walk you somewhere now like as a second person. I don't know if that's on new Bern. Just dedicated somewhere.

01:13:03       No, this is part of Uber now. It could have been somebody photo-shopped something like that. But I think it was a thing. Hey, if somebody wants to go years, there's going to be a service for everything. There is hands down. If somebody wants to go for a walk with me around, ran their Radnor Lake, my rate is $20 every 10 minutes. Okay. Yeah. So make $100 in a quick hour rock walk. Yeah, that's a good, that's a good hourly rate, right? Yeah. Let me know how to get in and that I wouldn't be involved. Yeah, that'd be awesome. Just walk. Just walk. Yeah, yeah, yeah. I'll have to find out. See, I started going to the gym. I've been going to the gym guys starting. Yeah. Consistently. Where's your gym? [inaudible]. Nashville. Why don't CA no, we joined the orange theory. Drinking the juice at 5:00 AM classes. They do. They have those early one. I don't go to that.

01:13:59       Jesus Christ wasn't up at that time. I'm not going. You'll see me around the nine 30 in the morning class. That's, that's about it. I need time to wake up, have my entire 12 cups of coffee and then go. Totally. That's a drink about, I make a pot. You know, I drink a whole pot to yourself every, but I don't, I share it with my wife, but I drink the majority of it. Yeah. I make a like four cups every morning, like not four separate cups, but like four cups of coffee and my pots. And it equates to about maybe two cups when you actually pour it in the mug. Yeah. Right. Yeah. So it's fantastic. Yeah. No, I couldn't do that. I need fill that Yeti all the way to the top and then let me take it and enjoy that thing. Huh? You need one of those things.

01:14:43       I, I have, it's, it's kind of some Japanese cup that it's about a liter or so, and you fill it up and it has a little top on it and so it stays hot all day long. And so anytime you need a little hit, you just take the top off, open the seal, pour it in there. And those called thermoses. Yeah, it's like a, it's like a Japanese type brand. Yeah. Japanese thermos. Yeah. Okay. That'd be kind of cool. I did get a whole new Cemex set up. Oh, for Christmas. Lovely. Which was stinking sweet. How many times are you making that to my brother in law? Well the first time I did went horrible. It takes everything. Everything. I tried to set the whole thing up and put the filter in and do all that and I got so excited because coffee is my, that's my jam.

01:15:33       I love, I live for this stuff and I set everything up, put the filter in, started warming it, got it a little wet. So stick to the sides, right ground the beans, put it all in. And as I'm pouring the water over the beans nice and slow, everything just starts going through the whole of the filter because I didn't, I didn't put it tight enough or I messed the whole thing up. So my very complete disaster just went straight through. Where they, where they Chemex filters made by chemists. Huh? That's crazy. Mess the whole thing up like a dumb dumb. He still drank it. Oh yeah. Okay. I figured it out. I learned it, I learned it. But the first time was, it was special. He just had all those grinds in your teeth. I poured it out and gave up for that time being and trying to get him the next day.

01:16:20       One of the, one of the things that that I do now on a consistent basis whenever I do my Cemex, is I heat up my water in the goosestep cuddle that I have for it. And then I heat up water in a regular whistle kettle and then heat up the whistle kettle first, pour the hot water in the Cemex all the way up to get the heat of the Cemex glass right close as close as I can to the boiling point of water. And then I also pour that hot water from the teakettle into the [inaudible] to the mug that I'm going to drink, warm up the mud and warm up the mug, the Cemex, and then I heat up the the gooseneck kettle. And as soon as it's ready, I'll pour out the water from the, the Cemex and then put the grinds in and then start my Cemex process.

01:17:16       And it makes a difference. Oh yeah, yeah. God, I got to have that stuff nice and warm already to start it and cause anytime coffee comes in contact with something cold, use filtered water flavor, filtered water. It does. It makes a difference. Big difference. It's wild that I told you that my wife drinks black coffee now. Oh really? Oh, she's converted my cousin something. Right, right. Because of the Cemex process years. But she, she's all about the black coffee. Born with the Cemex. Like it makes such a difference. Like the coffee is just so much better. Oh it's so good. We should do an experiment. You guys are going to disagree with me. Okay. But we take water from the Cumberland. We filtered it ourselves. Nope. And then we drink it for coffee water. Nope, I'm out. As long as I get to boil it, we can get them boil it.

01:18:01       It may not then it's fine. It might be, it may not be clear, but it could be purified. Yeah. As long as we do that, then we're good. I'll be able to pick that one out so quick for like a blind taste test. This is the Cumberland tastes like the Cumberland. It's delicious. Which would be a good coffee blend shop is listening. Frothy monkey hit it up guys. The Cumberland. That would be the Cumberland. That'd be cool. It's like a nice slight stab though. Or a dark Rose. Cause the Cumberland's dark, right? I think it'd be a dark roast. Yeah. I don't know. I look, it could be good. I want to start a coffee company too. Dang man. I have a lot of ambitions. Got new money. They want to kick my wife. That'd be Gloria. Tons. I got ideas for days. [inaudible] Our meetings just like this.

01:18:47       Yeah, there's actually a company I just saw, it's called like main vest. They're just about to launch in Nashville and it's like this investment app where you can start investing in local businesses in Nashville. I haven't looked into it more, but I'm like, this is intriguing because it's like invest $100 into your local coffee shop. And I'm like, okay, interesting. That's really interesting. I'm gonna look up that and I'd like to know more about this. What is, that's crazy you. How do you get money? How do you do that? I have no idea. Sign me up. Free money sign right now. But there's, there's also, there's a coffee shop that's coming into fifth and broad when fifth and broad opens and it's going to have, it's called elixir. It's going to have a coffee tasting as an option, like a like cupping stuff that you'd be able to do.

01:19:31       So it's the same flavors. And it's like a Japanese style coffee shop. Heck yeah. Yeah. That's going to be downtown Nashville. It's gonna be super interesting. That'll be sweet. There's a new frothy monkey coming over to East Nashville by me. They're taking over a post. Oh, okay. Yep. That's right. Yeah. That's going away and that's coming in, so that'll be good. I'll have a couple different [inaudible] I can go there. There will never be enough coffee shops in East Nashville. That's true. I saw a photo on frothy monkey's Instagram and they're like, new renovations are coming now to our East Nashville location and there was a picture of the gas line running into their riveting. That's, that's, that's what I signed up for. That's out there. That's why I follow the Instagram updates on your gas line. Yeah. What I'm here for, unless it's our secret coffee line, which is actually interesting.

01:20:23       So in Corinth back in Bible times the actual city had taps of beer flowing through the city and so they like add beer taps back. We have water lines that run through the city. They had that for your lines. Yeah. Cause the water was so contaminated. And now a moment with Stuart Deming. I love it. I think we need to have a little recording of that play before every time you drop a history lesson with Stewart and like little magical sounds effect and then you can go into your history piece. I think that's it. We need to get those. What are all the other like, you know, like radio stations and outboard. Yeah. Need a soundboard. I want to bring my goal actually next one, next month. Soundboard hanging with Hyde. We're having a soundboard. Let's do buttons and make noises and sounds. Okay. So next episode, this is what we need to do.

01:21:17       We need to have a soundboard and then we'd be talking about this so everybody else knows we're going to [inaudible] and then we need to do the Southern sayings compared to what everything else has said in America. Like y'all southernism, there's a book called essence for Southern that contains all Southern good grief. Yeah, I hear that one. I think we're doing a whole segment next time you're on, man. We're going to come up with a few things and we're going to have food with it. Let's go with something you noticed that happens in film all the time. That doesn't equate to real life. The number one [inaudible]. That's the first thing comes up like, so for example, the number one thing for me is a squeal on the mic when somebody touches it in films with feedback in films, it happens all the time. I understand.

01:22:09       Like I know why they're doing it, but it's just dumb. Okay. I would currently go with, because I'm obsessed with eighties movies. When you see something that is filmed in a school and you go to a locker, no one's locker is ever on the bottom. Yeah. They never been down to go to their locker. It's always right there. I height. That's, that's my entire laundry experience on school. See, that's interesting. We had a Walker bottom one. No, we didn't have double layer lockers. You're from New York, so you know we're, the rest of the planet has multiple [inaudible].

01:22:52       Someone has to be the person that has to go down and you've got to get on your knees, unlock your lock, like you've forgotten. What's my code? Is it 67 wait, you go to the right too. Is that right? What do you, what does it, you spin it to the right spin to lift to reset it. Spin it to the left to reset it. Then you got to go first, number 36 and then you've got to spin a tendon all the way around and you've got to pass it one time. Yep. Very convoluted, but someone has to do that all the time and in film never happens.

01:23:20       The one thing that bothers me in film more so TV shows because they get pushed out pretty quick is the lack of when some Foley goes in for sound effects and when they don't. Because the one that I've seen the most are inconsistency and car door shoutings like sometimes you'll hear it and then other times Foley will forget to put it in. It happens so much.

01:23:46       Well, how about glass tracks? I hate laugh. Tracks are terrible. More than anything. They're terrible. You know, it's, you know, it's great that touching shows that have left checks with the laptops taken out. That tells you how bad the writing is nowadays on a show. If you have to add a laugh track to say this was a joke. Laugh. Yeah. Huh? Horrible. Huh? Have you guys watched family matters recently? I don't watch, no, but what a show. I watched it growing up. It's incredible. Yeah. Yeah. I'm watching through it right now with Amanda and it is hilarious. It's really funny. Yeah, I would give it a go do it. I'd give it its old format. And then you remember like in the old little white kind of yeah. You remember the old like in the 90s where like they'll go out of zoom cause they didn't have like the proper camera.

01:24:35       Yes. Yeah. So like there's a ton of scenes like that and family matters where it's like completely out of zoom and nothing's in focus. So, but it's still a really funny show and Steve Urkel is hilarious. Yeah. Worth a noted worth, worth going to back to the house and watch. There you go. So all of the other films that I have two films, right? Jordan, thank you so much for coming on the national daily podcast, man. Where can people find you on social follow your website. A website is Jordan Hyde. I actually, I probably need to go get a new don't name, name, domain name now. Now that I have to change my name to George am Joe, Joe Ram, Jordan am Jordan Hyde H E I D. Dot com is the website and Instagram is, I am Jordan Hyde and hopefully I will be getting better at posting cause I still suck at it so bad.
